Listed below are some of the events that the Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation and its aircraft will be appearing at in the upcoming 2020 Airshow Season.

SUN N FUN Int'l Fly-In Expo

 

Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation aircraft at the event:  North American B-25J “Panchito”

Enjoy seeing he famous WWII medium bomber the North American B-25J up close. Look inside the bomb bay at the exact replicas of the bombs and count the machine guns. Panchito appears today exactly as the original Panchito did on Okinawa during the summer of 1945 carrying out bombing missions over Japan.

Second-In-Command (SIC) Type Ratings for Pilots

 

Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation aircraft:

North American B-25J "Panchito"

Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation will be offering pilots a chance for hands-on flying of one of the WWII aviation icons. This three day event will be open to only three pilots for SIC type ratings or one pilot for the Orientation Flight and two pilots for SIC type ratings. The Orientation experience will include 2 - 3 hours of ground school and flight briefing. The SIC type rating course includes the Pilot's Operating Manual for the B-25, syllabus, checklists and a Certificate of Completion. The minimum requirements for the Orientation flight and SIC type rating course are a current U.S. third class medical certificate, Private Pilot certificate and a multiengine rating.

The Second-In-Command type rating includes a one day ground school, B-25 Pilot's Operating Handbook, syllabus, checklists, lunch, logbook entry and Certificate of Completion for FAA approval of Second-In-Command type rating.

May 6 - 9, 2020             VE-Day/ Arsenal of Democracy Flyover

Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation is proud to announce that some of its aircraft will be participating in the Arsenal of Democracy Flyover at Washington, D.C on May 8, 2020 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe). Approximately 100 WWII vintage aircraft will be participating in the flyover that will take them past the Lincoln Memorial and east on Independence Avenue.       VJ Day/USS Missouri Flyover

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

 

Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation aircraft at the event:  North American B-25J “Panchito”

Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation is proud to announce that its B-25 “Panchito” will be participating in the 75th Anniversary of the signing of the Japanese surrender on the USS Missouri “Big Mo”. Panchito will fly to San Diego in August to be loaded on a small United States Navy carrier and transported to Pearl Harbor along with several other participating WWII bombers and transports. The United States Air Force will be transporting WWII fighters that will be taking part in the ceremonies. September 2, 2020, these aircraft will fly over the USS Missouri to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Japanese signing of the surrender papers.
