North American L-17A Navion

American military services used the L-17 from the late 1940's through the early 1960's as liaison reconnaissance, light cargo carrying, forward air control (FAC) and, in some cases, as a Light Attack Aircraft.

The continuing mission of this aircraft, affectionately known as "Wee Willie", is to remember and honor all combat crews and mates of the 91st Bomber Wing.

The original Wee Willie was a B-17 in the 91st Bomb Group that was shot down in WWII in April of 1945. The 91st is one of the United States Air Force's legendary combat units.
