The Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation (D.A.M.F.), which includes an aviation museum and vintage aircraft, is committed to keeping the history of early military and civilian aviation history alive for present and future generations.

Larry Kelley is the co-founder and director of D.A.M.F. He has been and continues to be an avid collector of aviation

memorabilia for over 40 years with the purpose of sharing with and educating the public about early military and civilian aviation. Part of his collection and The Jeffery L. Ethell Aviation Library are on display next to D.A.M.F.’s aircraft restoration hangar which houses the vintage aircraft that either have been purchased by or donated to D.A.M.F.

The aircraft and Museum receive a lot of TLC from a skilled and dedicated group of volunteers. For example, each one hour of flight in the North American B-25 takes approximately 120 -130 hours of volunteer time in maintenance and general care. The cost of a B-25 engine overhaul is approximately $85,000, a spark plug is $110, a main wheel tire is $4,500 and a rotor disk for the brakes is $135 and there are 56 rotor disks in the main wheel brake system.

D.A.M.F has hosts hangar and Museum tours for adults and children, sponsors events such as Wings and Wheels Georgetown Fall Festival, provides Living History Flights to the public in the B-25, sponsored guest appearances of one of the DoolittleTokyo Raiders, and is now providing flight training classes in the B-25 for qualified pilots who want to experience a real sense of what America’s Greatest Generation flew in WWII.
